International College held "Chinese cultural experience" summer camp successfully in 2016

In order to carry forward Chinese excellent culture, enrich foreign students' vacation lives, experience extensive and profound Chinese national culture with a long history deeply, know China more and at the same time help them integrate into overseas life in Huzhou to experience colourful cultural life in the south of China, with the powerful support of the school leaders, International College particularly held "Chinese cultural experience" summer camp for foreign students for three days.

In September 1st afternoon, for the activity launched favorably, orderly and safely, International College combined with each colleges foreign students located and Security Department etc. held summer camp mobilization meeting for over 60 foreign students who lived in the school in holiday propagating activities of the summer camp, emphasizing related problems of safety and order during this activity and preparing for it.

In September 3rd, all foreign students set out to Huzhou Yiyan Villa which was the first leg of this summer camp.Here, students followed masters to learned how to make "green dumpling" snack with traditional characteristics in the south of China and they were very interested in making this turquoise food and its purpose as ritual food on Tomb-sweeping day. After that, under the organization of development training teacher, students started to lift the drum to hit the ball，shift level and pass the ball etc. collective games and eventually they had a violent group match whose atmosphere was nervous but pleasant. This activity cultivated students' collective spirits of unity and cooperation, strengthened the friendship of students from different countries and experienced custom of south of China.

 On September 4, university invited some relevant professional teachers for the international students to explained and demonstrated traditional Chinese medicine, instruments, and martial arts. Chinese medicine Teacher introduced some traditional medicines like the cupping therapy, acupuncture, moxibustion, massage, and did some demonstrations, international students actively tried the traditional medical skill personally and surprised by it; Music teacher introduce and play the bamboo flute, flute, Hulusi and many musical instruments of minority nationality, everyone was fell in love with the beautiful Chinese music; Martial arts teacher plays introduction videos about people from all around the world is learning Chinese kung fu, the teacher also teach them taijiquan, students has a strong interest in this magical skills obviously. In the evening, college organized students to the cinema to watch films in English, and it was orderly whole time.

On September 5, the coach with the foreign students came to the beautiful lion hill. Students dressed in Indian costumes and play around. We also conducted mountain grass skiing competitions and full of jiangnan character pond fishing activities, experienced the interesting jiangnan folk and also carried on the physical training.

The summer camps got great supports and helps from leadership of school and the related units. Students said that this activity was very interesting, it enrich students’ summer life, andletstudents experienced the modern elements and folk customs of China's new rural. They also so grateful to schools and teachers for all the arrangements and hard work
