Recently, according to the school work arrangements, relevant personnel of Foreign Affairs Office and InternationalCollege formed a working group came to Azerbaijan to start a series of work on the preparation of Confucius institution with AzerbaijanLanguageUniversity.
It’s worth mentioning that during the working group carry out preparation in Azerbaijan, coincided with members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli having a state visit to Azerbaijan. On May 1st, on the recommendation of Ambassador of People’s Republic of China to the Azerbaijan Hong Jiuyin, vice premier Zhang Gaoli held cordial talks with working group, he pointed out that our university must try our best to contribute the Confucius institution, make a greater contribution to further the relationship of China and Azerbaijan and promote friendly intercourse between two countries people.
During the time, the working group on behalf of the school met with the President of Azerbaijan Language University, Kingston Yaming, for the first time. And we made the decision of the preparatory work, the Confucius institute at the ceremony process, sites, invite people, etc , with Confucius institute foreign dean, the director of the center in Azerbaijan language and culture university, Rafik. The working group held the Chinese Culture Speech with the theme of “Cultural and historical huzhou, distinctive HuzhouUniversity” and communicated with students in AzerbaijanLanguageUniversity
During the time, the working group visited China Embassy in Azerbaijan. Counselor Li Jinsong received the working group and said they would fully support the work of ConfuciusCollege.
The activities of the working group attained the earnest attention by local media. Azerbaijan national news agency and other 15 major local news media have been subsequently reporting the work of our ConfuciusCollege.
It is reported that in late June, President Zhang Liqin will represent our school to attend the Azerbaijan Language University Confucius Institute opening ceremony.
