The First International Cultural Festival Officially Open

       In the afternoon of May 25^th, the First International Cultural Festival of Huzhou University was held at the east campus by the Deqing Lakeside. The Consul General of Ukraine Consulate Shanghai, Mr. PONOMARENKO DMYTRO, the Consul General of Uzbekistan Consulate Shanghai, Mr. AGZAMKHODJAEV SAIDKAMOL, Second secretary Of Bangladesh Embassy in China, Mr. Asghar Hussain, the president of our university Liqin Zhang, deputy party secretary Yunliang Jiang, Director of Huzhou Foreign overseas Affairs Office Yongsheng Zheng attended the festival. The related department heads of Propaganda Department, Youth Corps Committee, Student Affairs Office, Resources Administrative Office, Security Office, Foreign Affairs Department, InternationalCollege and all teachers and students of the InternationalCollege took part in this activity.

         Jiang Yunliang made a speech for this opening ceremony. He said university, as a disseminator of human civilization and a forerunner of culture education, shoulder sacred missions of training international talent, deepening culture exchange of each country and promoting culture share of the world. Education internationalization of our university after years of development, nowadays, group of students became more multiform, campus culture grown more open, talent cultivation and culture innovation full of life. This year’s International Culture Festival providing a stage for students from different countries, allow them to show to enrich and to upgrade themselves, which will be a significant propulsion to expand teachers and students’ horizon at home and abroad, increase cross culture communicative ability, and raise the profile of HuzhouUniversity. Nika from Ukraine gave a presentation in Chinese, expressed her likeness to China and HuzhouUniversity and her feeling of campus life.  

       Subsequently, three foreign envoys delivered speeches. Mr. PONOMARENKO DMYTRO recalled the traditional friendship of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Ukraine and the friendly exchanges in education, hoping that the two countries could have more bright prospects for cooperation in terms of education and culture. Mr. AGZAMKHODJAEV SAIDKAMOL described his ideas for the future of Huzhou and southern culture of China with full enthusiasm. He also highly praised the international atmosphere of our school education. Hussain anticipated more young people from Bangladesh to studying in Huzhou and wished the first International Cultural Festival of Huzhou University a huge success.

       Along with the festive gun salutes, Zhang Liqin announced that the first International Cultural Festival officially opened. The opening ceremony performance choreographed by Chinese and foreign students started officially. The foreign students from Kazakhstan brought ardently vigorous opening song and dance and rapidly attracted all eyes with their passionate dance steps. Students from 15 countries such as China, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Bengal and Mozambique wearing respectively national costumes made a brilliant appearance and brought exotic international fashion show to all audiences. Pakistan's and Uzbekistan's students respectively brought song and dance with national characteristics. Euphonious languages of various countries came together and left a lasting and pleasant impression. Chinese students brought Chinese traditional Folk Music Ensemble and creative roller skating and Dragon dance.

      After performance show, the exotic garden party began at the bank of DeqingLake. More than ten foreign countries displayed their motherland's cultures and customs in way of "exhibition hall", in which visitors could see their traditional costumes, taste their special foods, listen to their typical music, and learn about their countries by photos stuck on walls. Especially, during participating in their carefully-prepared interaction gameseveryone could find everything fresh and new different from China， and has a deeper knowledge of their charm of culture. There were up to 2，000 visitors coming for this ceremony. On the way of lakeside path， visitors came and went in an endless stream.

        It was known that this International Cultural Festival was hosted by Huzhou University Party Committee Propaganda Department， being undertook by International College with assistance of Students Department Youth League Committee. Guided by the main idea “ International Vision， Experience exchange， Leading development”， this ceremony has shown widely campus culture on every side in Huzhou University which is international and diversified by series activities on wonderful international education，academic exchange， culture and art. The success of first International Cultural Festival is a mark stone of a brand new stage our university's international education has stepped into. And profoundly it has vital significance in promoting communication between foreign students and Chinese students， diversifying campus cultural life， consolidating influence of Huzhou University and getting improvements on displaying international charm of Huzhou University as well.
