The First Confucius Institute of Huzhou University Got Official Approval

Recently, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) have given rise to Huhzou Univeristy. According to the letter, Huzhou University and Azerbaijan Language and Culture Universityare formally approved to establish Confucius  Institute, which achieve the break through of 0 Confucius Institute in the history. Confucius Institute of Azerbaijan Languages and  Culture University will be the first Confucius Institute inthe Republic of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan Language and Culture University, located in the capital, Baku, is a leading institution in  higher education.  It follows the resolution of Azerbaijan government on "training foreign language  talents" and famous  for  its linguistics  and regional researches.

In recent years, Azerbaijan Languages Universityis committed to the spread of Chinese language and culture,  the establishment of Chinese Language and Culture Center in 2013, and Hanban, the  Chinese embassy  in Azerbaijan and a number of Chinese universities continue to expand exchanges, joint bid with my school to lay the Confucius Institute  a solid foundation.

The establishment of Confucius Institute of Azerbaijan Language  and Culture University is  the main  content of “the list of majormatters to be finished” concerning the fourth Shanghai CICA Summit Chinese president Xi Jinping mentioned with Azerbaijan president Ilham Aliyev. After its formal opening and operation,  Confucius Institute will  strive to build itself, based on strengthening  the popularization of Chinese  NOCFL,  aninstitute  with  painting  and  calligraphy culture, silk culture, eco-culture  and Chinese  martial arts,  etc. and  become  a sample  member  of the  global Confucius Institute family with its own cultural feature. The establishment of Confucius Institute will also be beneficial to cultivating more excellent native teachersto teach Chinese in Azerbaijan Language and Culture University, enhancing the  understanding of the west Asian, especially people from Transcaucasia region,to the Chinese language and culture,  strengthening the educational and economic cooperation between China and Azerbaijan, creating a important platform of Chinese teaching and comprehensive cultural communication between Chinese and the world for local people.

It is said that since the initial launch of Confucius Institute in our school, the head quarters of Confucius  Institute/NOCFL, Zhejiang Province Department of Education have been giving full support and concern for a whole year. The chief leaders of our school have investigated and coordinated many times on the issue of the bid of Confucius Institute;the Department of Foreign Affairs has been the leading ministry forpositive and dense negotiation with Azerbaijan  Language University on co-establishing Confucius Institute, keeping revising the whole 40,000- word bidding material in Chinese and English with continuous effort.

The success of the approval of Confucius Institute in our school manifested the comprehensive strength of the  internationalized school running horizon of our school and international generalization of Chinese language and culture. Atthe same time, it also uttered a strong voice in the positive answering to the One Belt and One Road initiative of our  country, embedding a milestone and a far-reaching significance in  building a regional  comprehensive university  with position and influence both in theprovince and outside of province in the future.
