On December 24th, the 2014 annual scholarship award ceremony for foreign students was held in classroom 107, No.5 building of our university. All foreign students, accompanied by Directors of Foreign Affairs Department, International College, College of Humanities and relevant representatives of teachers attended the ceremony.
Zhu Jing, the director of Foreign Affairs Department, showed his congratulations to those honored foreign students on behalf of Huzhou University and fully recognized their academic achievements at school. Our great support and care to foreign students had been fully reflected by this award ceremony, highlighted by Zhu. He also expected these students to not only study hard in academic areas, but also play the role of ambassadors of Chinese culture, through which the friendship between China and other countries could be strengthened. Finally, prizes and allowances were awarded to the foreign students by Zhu as well as the directors of International College and College of Humanities.
27 foreign students from US, Russia, Ukraine, and Czech Republic won the first, second prizes and the living allowances accordingly. During the special time of Christmas Eve, the ceremony express great care and love from our university to all the foreign students.
On behalf of all the foreign students, Brian Kirkpatrick from U.S. delivered the speech to express his sincere gratitude. He said that although confronting many challenges in study, he received a great deal of support and help from our university. Besides, he determined to study hard to be an ambassador of Chinese culture to get more people closer to China. The rest of foreign students also expressed their enthusiasm to study hard and to satisfy the expectation from our university and teachers.
Huzhou University Scholarship for Foreign Students is established with the purpose of encouraging and supporting those diligent, active and positive students as well as easing their burden in study and life. Our university’s education system and management for foreign students have been highly praised by the Ministry of Education.
