September 9th,Mr. Liu Zhanjiang,vice-president of Auburn University, and Mr. William Bactchelor, dean of Schoolof Agriculture of Aurburn University U.S. visited our university. The visit speciallyfocused on deliberating over exchanges and cooperation between the twouniversities. President Hu Zhangjian ,vice-president Ye Jinyun attended the reception. Responsible persons fromForeign Affairs Office , International College, School of Life Science alsoattended the meeting.
President Hu Zhangjian introducedthe basic information and development of our university in recent years,including secondary school catalog, international exchange and cooperation,students training and key discipline construction. Hu recalled the friendshipof Huzhou University and Auburn University, hoping that a deeper cooperation could be reached bybuilding Chinese-foreign cooperation project in school running,which can in turn benefit students in both universities.
Vice-president Ye Jinyun extended a warmwelcome to the delegation from Auburn University and wished that theChinese-foreign cooperation project in school running can be pushed in anorderly manner.
Liu Zhanjiang expressed his thanks for ourwarm reception. He also introduced the school catalog and the recentdevelopment of Auburn university, including the proceeding project of“Increasing 1000 foreign students”. Liu expressed his keen interest in 3+2cooperation project in school running with our university, and invited ourleadership to their campus in U.S. for further survey and visit.
Subsequently, the two universitiesexplore in-depth topics regardingChinese-foreign cooperation project in school running, students exchange,teachers training and matters.
Auburn University is known to be anrenowned old university in the Southern state Alabama of U.S. It wasestablished in 1856, and enjoyed high prestige in agriculture, forestry,fisheries, life sciences, mathematics, nursing, medicine, engineering, etc. Theuniversity is also supplied with its own airport.
