2th June,during the Chinese traditional Dragon Boat Festival, the exchange student delegation from Plymouth City College arrived at our University. They will start a two-week summer camp in our University. In the afternoon of 3th June, the welcome ceremony was held in our University. The principals of Foreign Affairs Office,?xml:namespace>International Collegeas well as the representatives of the Delegation participated.
Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, Executive Dean of the International College Mr. Jing Zhu first expressed a warm welcome to the Delegation on behalf of our University. He recalled the friendship and cooperation between our University and the Plymouth City College, then gave a brief introduce about our University and Huzhou city. He encouraged the visiting students to understand the situation in China with questions and experience Chinese culture.
The Deputy Deen of International College introduced the learning programme about this summer camp to the delegation and wished them to have a pleasant time in Huzhou. As the representative of the delegation, the British student Ely, who is interested in Chinese language and culture greatly thanked for the warm reception of our University and show the full expectation of this study and exchange activities. British student Carys said she was curious about Chinese rural culture. Jing Zhu told her there is Chinese most beautiful new rural construction in Anji and encouraged her to go and have a look. Later,the two sides also discussed economic profile of Zhejiang province and expanding exchange study in China and etc. The atmosphere of Opening Ceremony was warm and relaxing. During the Dragon Boat Festival,British students watched the performances of Chinese traditional clothing under the guidance of our university student volunteers. The extensive and profound Chinese culture left a deep impression on them.?xml:namespace>
It is reported that friendship and cooperation between our University and the Plymouth City College have established from 2009 and our University has delivered five batches of students to the Plymouth City College to exchange study, total of 43 students. The Plymouth City College also sent students to our University for short-term exchange. This year,the visit of the third batche of short-term exchange students marks a new stage of bilateral cooperation.
